So finding a party in Maple Story 2 for Party Quests and 10-man Raids were kinda troublesome at the start.
To begin, a party leader or any of his members can go to the PQ/Raid entrance portal to click on a button to advertise their party (including the raid they are doing, number of players in party already etc.) in the chatbox of the game.
You had to PM/whisper players your class, your level and your possible" Total Damage". Why is damage in quotes?
Because many players would fake their " total damage" because that was a indicator as you whether you will be accepted into the party.
The reason why this was happening was because all 10-man Raids at that time had a 10 minute timer on them, this meant that without having X amount of total damage per person in a party, the chances of clearing it will be very low since it is essentially a race against time. Many things were changed since then which was the inclusion of Normal Difficulty mode which meant a 60 minute timer instead of a 10/20 minute timer for party quests and raids.
In 40 cap, they introduced a system where you could self-invite yourself to party quests and raids from the chatbox instead of whispering the person who was advertising his party. this made it alot better only that it was a who clicks on the "self-invite" faster than another and there wasn't a way to filter out which class you want. It has however helped improved the number of public parties that can be formed very quickly so that people can party up easily for PQs for leveling. Overall it was a decent introduction to improve the party system in MS2.
Tomorrow however is where the real changes and improvement starts! A Party finder system !

This is such a great improvement because it is both ways.
Party leaders can now filter the classes they are looking to join. Sometimes you just need a priest in your party but it is so hard to find one via the self-invite system and going to channel 1 will be very lag intensive for some people and in the end you will usually just run raids without one though it is very possible to finish raids without a Priest.
The most important part about the party system is the fact that you no longer need to scroll through the chatbox to look for the raid that you want to join and also the frustration when you try to self-invite yourself to a party only to be denied because it was already full. Not scrolling through the ever fast moving chatbox of party invite spams is really a great great change here and I believe personally the most important part of having this party finder system.
It is a much simpler system that is neat and pleasing to the eye!
There are also many other changes coming in for MS2 tomorrow (Tuesday), can't wait to try them out and finally produce an Overview video for MS2 which I believe is an opportune time.
I hope you enjoyed the read as usual and have a great day ahead!
Cheers,
Nathan
